We are proud of our staff to child ratios and in line with Government EYFS requirements we will always at the very least have th required levels.
1 : 3 for under 2s in our Red Room
1 : 4 for under 3s over 2 in our Yellow Room
1 : 5 for over 3s in our Orange Room
1 : 8 for over 3s in our Groom Room
We always have at least 1 – 8 within our Out of School care.
There are extra staff within each room and we do not use Bank Staff to cover from outside agencies we use our own staff. Staff have regular sessions in their own designated rooms which supports children’s well being. Staff attend training courses to continue their professional development for example in Child Protection, First Aid, Special Educational needs, and Health and Safety.
Ofsted said “Managers provide the knowledgeable practitioners with good professional development opportunities. Managers are highly sensitive to practitioners’ well-being. They work tirelessly to ensure that the team are well motivated and supported to work to the best of their abilities.”
Each of our classrooms have a Room Leader and a Deputy Room Leader. These are our senior staff and they report to the Managers. Within each room there will then be keypersons and support staff as needed. Keypersons are allocated to each room at the start of each academic year and we try to ensure as little movement as possible throughout the year, however staff may need to be moved due to sickness, training or leave but we try to keep this to a minimum. New staff are usually recruited through a known Early Years agency or may be direct from a local college.
Paige Hunt
Paige is the Deputy Manager, and the Green Room Lead. Paige joined us in 2020 and is a qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Kirsty Hooper
Kirsty is the Room Leader of Baby Room. Kirsty joined the setting in 2017 where she completed her apprenticeship to become a Qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Sammy-Jo Parkin
Sammy-Jo is the Deputy Room Leader of Baby Room. Sammy-Jo joined the setting in 2014 where she completed her apprenticeship to become a Qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Sophie Darnell
Sophie is the Room Leader of Toddler Room. Sophie joined the setting in 2015 and is a Qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Natalia Marczak
Natalia is the Deputy Room Leader of Toddler Room. She is a Level 3 Qualified Practitioner who joined the setting in 2019.
Rachel Simmonds
Rachel joined the setting in 2016, and she completed her Foundation Degree in Early Years in 2020. Rachel is the Room Leader of Yellow Room (Two Year Olds)
Cara Young
Cara joined ETKC in 2011. She was the Room Leader of our Baby Room for many years but has now chosen to explore different ages in 2023, and is now Deputy Room Leader in Yellow Room. Cara is a Qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Maria Mullholland
Maria is the Joint Room Leader of Orange Room. Maria joined ETKC in 2023, and is a qualified Level 4 practitioner. Maria has many years experience managing a preschool before joining the team at ETKC.
Jessica Ross
Jess joined the setting in 2015, and is the Joint Room Leader of Orange Room. Jess is a Qualified Level 3 Practitioner.
Nicky Parkin
Nicky is a Senior Member of staff who has specialised in SEN work. Nicky is a Level 3 practitioner who additionally holds SENCO Level 3 training. Nicky works within the rooms, and she undertakes SEN work with the SENCo Manager.
Elise Jenkins
Elise has worked at ETKC since 2017 and she is a Qualifed Level 3 Practitioner. Elise is Deputy Room Leader of Green Room for our Preschoolers.
